Mindy Mae's Market is full of Utah's finest artisans, and Nikki Weekes, creator of Mindy Mae's Market does a fabulous job of promoting these artisans and finding the best spots to display their products. Here is an artisan that we've been following throughout several shows. We finally got to meet her in person. This is Clarissa Haycock with Coco Sailor. She makes the cutest and coolest handmade baby and toddler t-shirts. Simple, Sweet, Homemade--just like your baby!

Here we are at the Trendsetter Summer Boutique, promoted by Kristy Hardy and her sister. This was their first and they did a fine job! It was held at the Veteran's Memorial Building on the Spanish Fork Main Street, which was a perfect location for this fun event. I visited the boutique on Saturday with my 2 daughters and we had a lot of fun. I love meeting new vendors, it's always so great to see the many talents that people have.

This lady was amazing! (Sorry I lost your card and forgot your name-so please email me with your info). She is a very talented seamstress. Very cute stuff! She was so nice to my Bella-totally made her day when she gave her this cute teddybear.

Saturday, July 25th: The Simply Chic Craft Show

What a great show in Ogden at the Marriott Hotel! Keli Ames and her sister, Katie Powell, did a fabulous job! We had a great time and had a record breaking number of entries for our Little Red Box game!!! This show was one of the best we've been to, and we are glad we were invited to participate. If you missed the first Simply Chic Craft Show, don't make the same mistake again. Make sure to check back here for info on their next show...it's bound to be even bigger and better. Keli and Katie ran this show like they've been doing it for years, and it showed the the vendors they had and the traffic they received. The Marriott Hotel was a great location-right in the middle of historic Ogden in a beautiful conference room.

Here I am with Keli Ames and Katie Powell . Our display was all set up in the front entrance. The Simply Chic Craft Show donated some great prizes for our Little Red Box, thus we got a lot of participants.

We always love to meet vendors and learn about their talents. There were a handful at this show that really caught our eye. This first vendor has caught our eye before, and this time she surprised again. Becki's Designs was displaying a fabulous product. Becki makes flowers from recycled magazines and paper and uses them for hair clips, earrings, necklaces, etc. Take a look and check out all of her great handmade items at www.entyqua.etsy.com and www.beckisdesigns.blogspot.com. It was so nice to see you again Becki! Nice work!

It was our first meeting with G.G. Gems at this event and they really caught us by surprise. They specialize in sterling silver and gemstone jewelry. They are not just distributors, they put these beautiful pieces of jewelry together! Very neat product, very nice people. We had a great time talking with them and looking at their fine jewelry assortment. You can reach Garth Gines at 801-400-4808. He also takes special orders.

We loved Refreshing Designs by Heidi Michele! Heidi has come up with a new twist on jewelry. She handmakes this cute jewelry out of this thick aluminum wire-silver and colored in many styles and shapes. From rings to earrings and necklaces to bracelets, they were all so chic and elegant, yet playful and light. I had to buy myself a bracelet, because this jewelry was so cute and original! We saw so many ladies at the craft show walking around with Refreshing Designs jewelry. What a hit! It was so nice to meet you Heidi!!!

The Simply Chic Craft Show also had a Kids Corner where the kids could keep busy doing crafts. There was also live music by a local band called Arvis Tatum, lotts of giveaways, and Roberts Crafts! The show was fun, it was fresh, and there was something for everyone. We had a great time and can't wait for the next one. Thanks so much Keli and Katie for putting on a excellent show!

Boutique Frenzy had a lot of fun yesterday at the Chic & Unique Boutique, organized by Lynibew Boutique, which was held at the San Moritz Clubhouse in Midvale,UT. Wowee! The temperature was well above 100 degrees-a beautiful summer day! Unfortunately, I don't think they got as many people as they wanted because of the heat. For those that didn't mind the heat and were looking for some fun and talented vendors, this was a very fun and quaint boutique. We had a chance to talk to every vendor and got to know what they do and prime them for what is to come with Boutique Frenzy. Make sure you go to The Little Red Box to play our online contest for prizes that were donated from the Chic & Unique Boutique. You have 4 chances to win one of two prizes!

During the major heat of the day, the kids also got a chance to cool off by the San Moritz Clubhouse pool! They had a great time...and mommy too! There were also snow cones and a blow up house for the kids! If you missed this fun shopping experience, you missed out! It was hot all the way around!

This was not your everyday salsa...so unique, so many different flavors, and soooo tasty! They even take custom orders! What a great story of success! Paul and Becky Anderson founded For Every Home, one of the nation's fastest growing home party companies. In the For Every Home magazine titled, Celebrating Women, Becky talks about how she built this business from the ground up. In 1994, Becky was living on a large fruit farm in Provo, UT. After watching her family work on the farm, she decided that she wanted her girls to learn work in a way that would be fun and safe. We had a lot of fun at My Petite Boutique! Thank you so much for letting us be involved!!!

The Bijou Market, promoted by Emily Frame, made our Saturday complete! With the beautiful outside relaxing atmosphere complete with live Jazz music in a beautiful yard right in the middle of Orem, it was blissful! Just take a look at this home! Talk about atmosphere! What a beautiful day for an outside event! This home is beautifully decorated and landscaped surrounded by orchards!

We had a great evening visiting with all of the neat artisans and saw some amazing new ideas. Let me share....
These girls have come up the with the coolest idea! (I have misplaced their info, so please email me, and I will update you info!)

So cute and unique! I tried them on and they are really cool! You can wear them your sandals too for another great look! We love seeing new and unique items! So much fun!
Here's another great idea....all you need to grow your own herbs in a can! You just open the can and water! They also make all kinds of wholesome snacks. (Please send me more info also-it was a long day).
We got to see Kharisma once again! It's always so nice to see Melissa and we got to meet her partner, Melanie this time! What a great couple of women! Looking For Vendors For a Great Cause!

The following email was sent to me. This is a great opportunity to help a family in need and share what you do at the same time!

Scott and Staci Warren adopted Mia in December 2007 she was 6 weeks premature and had a long stay in the NICU. They are still paying on the adoption fees and medical bills for Mia. They were recently contacted by the adoption agency and told that Mia's birth mother is expecting a baby boy on July 25. Scott and Staci would love to be able to keep this brother and sister together. Please help them with this adoption.

The Sale is Saturday, June 27, 2009, from 8 am to 2 pm. At Cross Point Church located at 4490 South 3200 West, West Valley City, 84119. You can rent a 6 ft table for $10 each and this fee goes toward the fundraiser.

The church will be open for restroom use. We do not have childcare available but you are welcome to bring your children with you. If you need to have electricity for your booth you need to bring your own cords and let me know asap so I can set your area closer to the outlets.

We will not have extra change so please plan accordingly. There are several banks and credit unions in the area that should be open Saturday till 12. You are all responsible for your cash box.

I will know by Friday what size the booths are going to be. Right know they will be about 10x15 to 10x20 so pretty large areas. All booth areas will be clearly marked. There will be no driving on the grass. You are welcome to go to the church earlier in the week to take a look around.

The large grassy area in the front is out main area. Over flow will be out back. I ask that you all park out on the rear near the dumpster to allow our guests to park in the parking area. I will be at the church at 6:30 am for set-up so you may start then. The spaces will be marked out. Please see Anita for your area assignment. This is when you will pay your fees. If you want the fee and donation to be tax deductible make a check out to Crosspoint Church and in the memo line write adoption. This weekend was full of surprises! We knew there was a chance of rain, but man!
It's the imperfections that endear right? So this weekend is definitely one to remember...

First of all, I want to tell you about this store called Abode. Abode is the coolest freaking place we've ever seen! So unique and original - A Home and Garden Consignment store filled with the coolest new, old and antique knick-knacks around! Items from marbles, to chandeliers, to appliances, to vintage signs, coins, to clothing all with antique/retro/old-timey style and flare! Abode is helping us advertise by handing out Boutique Frenzy fliers at their Flea Markets that run once a month through good weather. They held a flea market on Saturday. If you went to the Springville Art City Days Little Bee Craft Show, you saw our fancy wet display! The Little Bee Craft Show, organized by Kendra Seeley, started on Wednesday and by the time we checked on it on Friday, it had already braved one storm-totally drenched but standing strong! It's always nice to be greeted by a hug(Thanks Mumzeys!) when you get to a show, especially when you find out that the rain tried to ruin everything! The rain didn't put up much of a fight at this show, though, with the carnival, the entertainment and amazing vendors. Our kids (and I :) had a great time riding carnival rides and we had some fun meeting new vendors and telling them how BoutiqueFrenzy.com and our new BOUTIQUE magazine will help their boutique businesses. Everyone is getting very excited for our Fall launch, and so are we! We can't wait to see the website help the boutique industry by giving everyone a source to turn to for boutique events, industry news, and online sales. We are still anticipating a great Fall launch and as we get closer to an actual date, we will keep you informed. Get excited! Get into the FRENZY!

1)This first picture is of Christopher Smith of Ageless Animation. This animation studio does some amazing stop motion animation! My kids were enamoured with the movies they have made, they sat and watched as we talked. Christopher was a very nice guy and very talented artist and animator. We were very impressed and wish Ageless Animation much success! They are working on getting more financing so they can continue to do what they do best. 2)The second and third picture shown above is of my sweet daughter Bella with a lovely and talented jewelry maker, Ginger Rivera, creator of Ooh La lah. She makes very unique and beautiful watch bands, earrings and necklaces. We enjoyed talking to her and her cute family and Bella had a great time making her very own bracelet to accessorize her outfit for the day! We love it when we find extra nice vendors who love to share what they do and want to get into the FRENZY! The Little Bee Craft Boutique was very fun, we met new vendors with amazing products and we were so excited to be a part of this fun tradition in the Art City of Springville! Thank you Kendra for all of your work putting this great show together! We look forward to your next boutique in Pleasant Grove this week!

Oh yea! I almost forgot! Everytime we visit Springville, we eat at the best Pier 49 Pizza. This Pier 49 is in a historic old building that has been made into a killer hang out with great pizza! Okay, so Saturday morning was pretty nice...not too much wind and no rain yet. We set up our booth at the annual Saratoga Splash in our home town of beautiful Saratoga Springs. Last year it was very warm and so we hoped for the best even though we know rain was in the forecast. We have our canopy, our display safely underneath, and treats and a craft for the kids. The morning went very well, like I said, we got tons of interest-met a lot of new people that were interested in Boutique Frenzy, kids came to make their own bracelets and put on an original cool Boutique Frenzy rub on tattoo! We were able to answer questions about how www.BoutiqueFrenzy.com would help individuals manage their boutique business online and were able to share how our new BOUTIQUE magazine would help promote their businesses because it is very affordable and directed to the boutique market. Yea! Thinks were going great and then came a little wind, and then more clouds, and by 2:00pm it was raining pretty heavily. Of course, being summer and all, we were not wearing jackets. It started to get cold, so I thought I'd better take the kids home and get dressed more warmly. So, we left when there was a slight break in the rain and headed out. Well, everyone was of course heading out as well, so we got stuck in yucky traffic(see picture). By the time we got through the traffic, I got a call from Mikey. "Just go get our other displays!" "Why?" I asked. I was almost home, ready to get the jackets and go back to the Saratoga Splash, when he explained to me that a huge massive wind and rain just hit and destroyed our entire booth! He said that he might as well of just jumped into a pool with all our stuff. Totally bummed, I waited at home for Mike to return and then together we would both go to Springville and American Fork to pick up our stuff and call it a day. Apparently, 2 other people had to help Mikey hold down our canopy, and as soon as Mikey got the tarp off everything blew over including our tables with all those beads, our tattoos and our fliers! We were pretty bummed and upset to say the least and we were already exhausted and so were our kids. But....we had a job to do! Boutique Frenzy lives on!

So, this is the Saratoga Splash before the storm-singing and dancing on stage, our nice booth complete with craft and display (with treats and tattoos).

Alas, the Saratoga Splash was not a total loss. We did meet some great people that were excited to be a part of the Boutique Frenzy community. We had fun, and even though our display got turned upside down, it dried out nicely.

After the big "tornado" hit, we rushed over to the VA Street Fair in American Fork. Angie Kirby, one of Boutique Frenzy's fans and friends, brought together the vendors for this event and let Boutique Frenzy display the Little Red Box at their booth.

These pictures were taken in the morning with NO RAIN...their were several great vendors and an awesome band and food. When we got there to check on how the storm affected everything, we found them to all be very SMART and inside the building. Everything was going good, rockin' and rollin' and lotts of traffic. The band was playing beach music like nothing had ever happend.

Angie Kirby and her husband have a company called Best Affordable Gifts and sell great gifts for everyone! Angie makes the cutest diaper and towel cakes. They sell their items at several shows and boutiques and online at www.bestaffordablegifts.com! Check it out!

First Time Boutiques with a BIG Impression!

Our big boutique day this week was on Friday! We were so excited to visit these fabulous boutiques, so we decided to get out a day earlier this week. Before I talk boutique details, I have to say....Mindy Mae's Market and The Backyard Boutique were superb! I have never met a better group of individuals! Nikki of Mindy Mae's Market and Amanda of The Backyard Boutique (along with her sweet parents) gave awe inspiring shows! We were so impressed that both of these shows were first timers! You would have never guessed that these shows had never been done before! The locations, the advertising, the setup, and vendors were amazing and well thought out. Boutique Frenzy was honored to be involved with these amazing boutiques. Major kudos to you both!

Let me tell you why you missed out if you didn't go to these boutiques....

Nikki Weekes, organizer and promoter of Mindy Mae's Market, put on an excellent boutique in Farmington at a beautiful Destination Homes Model Home. Nikki found a great group of vendors for her first show. We had a great time looking through the home at all of the amazingly talented artisan's products. Here we are in front of the Destination Model Home (look at all those cars! everyone wanted to take a look!):

Here is the famous Boutique Frenzy display at Mindy Mae's Market...in the garage right before checkout! Thanks to all who stopped at our display and played the Little Red Box game and joined our "Frenzy List!"

Here are a few of the vendors that we had a chance to get to know at Mindy Mae's Market...

You all remember Brooke Mortensen of Ritzy Misfit? Well, she comes from a very creative and talented family! Here she is with her sister, Kersey Campbell creator of Made by Matchgirl and her mother Terry Eagleston creator of adorable soft baby blocks. It was so fun to see these 3 together presenting their creative and unique abilities!

This is Amberlynn Rasmussen, creator of Cutsie Cakes-Cupcakery and Gift Boutique! Amberlynn was so much fun to talk to and I couldn't stop looking at her delicious cupcakes! She was kind enough to send us home with a box of them and we didn't even make it to the car...

My favorite was the chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting! Her cake is so moist and flavorful and the frosting was to die for! Topped with a cherry...could anyone ask for more?

This is Becki, creator of Becki's Designs. Becki makes beautiful unique jewelry. She has a knack for putting colors and shapes together to make beautifully designed jewelry. Check out her stuff at www.beckisdesigns.com!

This is where I do a Shout Out to Nikki and all of her vendors...Thank you all for making this world a better place with your unique and fabulous talents and services! Now for boutique #2!
Amanda Spencer and her sweet Mom, Tricia McCoy and Dad, Dennis, ran the first ever Backyard Boutique in Lindon in their own beautiful backyard! The Backyard Boutique was started by this mother-daughter team on a mission to create and share their designs and the creativity of others with everyone they can! They want it to be fun and interactive for not only the customers, but the vendors as well!! This is exactly what they created. Dead-on on their very first one! Amanda Spencer and her Mom are the creators of Mumzeys-highest quality handmade products! Their product include bags, tutus, headbands, ballet shoes, bows, and rag tags. Adorable stuff and very high quality! So... not only could you shop some of the best vendors in Utah, you could buy from the promoters themselves!

Now let's talk location! Look at how beautiful this yard is....it conisted of three waterfalls, amazing landscaping and more! This boutique was seriously a get away! Besides a little wind and rain, the location was a shopper's paradise! My kids had a great time in the Kid Zone on the blow up bouncing gym. They also got FREE cotton candy! This was the perfect place for moms with children. Moms got to shop in peace, children got to play!

They also had live music going and glitter toes!

If you think the the Backyard Boutique was totally awesome...wait! There is still more! Not only did it have great vendors, amazing location, music, and fun for the kids, The Backyard Boutique was also an Orphanage Project! The Mumzeys' teamed up with one of their great vendors, Kharisma.
This is Melissa with her unique Bali items and the school supply drive that was held during the boutique!

Together they put together a school supplies drive for the children in Bali! Tricia McCoy is known for her humanitarian efforts and Kharisma, created by Melissa Van Leeuwen and Melanie Larsen, have spent the last few weeks in Bali, Indonesia looking for the most unique items they could find to sell at boutiques and on their website. They buy handmade products from the people of Bali and then they donate a percentage of everything they make back to the people of Bali! What a great company and how neat! We enjoyed talking to Melissa and getting to know Kharisma and it's unique handmade Bali merchandise and mission. Check out these pictures of their latest trip to the orphanage in Bali:

Friday was awesome!!! We got to go to Andra Stoker's Sweet Tweet Boutique! We met some wonderful vendors and saw some of the most cute and original products! You need to attend a Sweet Tweets Boutique if you have yet to "get around to it." This is not something you want to miss! Take my word for it people! Andra is such a sweetheart, and that is why we gave her the Sweetheart Award. Andra will be returning in the fall with more Sweet Tweet Boutiques after a short break due to her new pregnancy. We can't wait to take part in the next Sweet Tweet Boutique. Good luck with everything Andra, we are so excited for you!

We love Jen, she is always fun to talk to and is excited about the boutique industry and what we are doing!

This first picture is Andra Stoker's cute tampon wallets! What a great way to cover up those "party favors." I am so sick of my kids getting into my purse and displaying those things to everyone around..I really need to get me one! (Sorry men, I don't mean to embarrass:)
The second picture is of a cute and unique product that I had not seen before this one...a small magnet board to display photos in a very cute way! Genius!

I love the part of my job where I get to eat delicious treats! This day was no exception! Old Time Caramels are produced in Tooele, Ut by this fellow (I didn't catch his name... Whatever your name is, please send it to us so you can get the glory you deserve for these phenominal treats! BTW thanks for the samples, they were dreamy)! His flavors include orange caramel, mint caramel, cinnamon caramel, plain caramel and Mikey's favorite the licorice caramel. As you can see, my Dyllie had a hard time staying out of the free samples. This gentlemen seriously displays huge bowls of FREE samples at every boutique he attends. Lastly, we met Brittany Bezanson of Heritage Makers in the basement. Yes, she was in the basement, but doing a fantastic job of letting everyone know how great Heritage Makers is. I'm sold! What a busy, busy day! When Saturday rolls around, I always wonder how we are going to accomplish everything. It always ends great! Another Saturday filled with FRENZY!
Riding to the first boutique of the day, The Simply Chic Mini Boutique (say that 10 times fast!) With our 3 little munchkins in the back, Mikey driving and me smiling in the passenger seat, we were off!

The Simply Chic Mini Boutiqe was held in lovely Daybreak in a cute red house.

A little break in the Boutiquing, we attended my sweet nephew's 1st Birthday Party! The kids had fun, got wet, sugared out, and then zonked out! It worked out great, because we were able to attend the next boutique while they slept in the car with the air conditioning on high (please don't judge).

Here we are at the 1st Sweet B Boutique! Beautiful home, more great vendors and Tricia Fogg, the show promoter, is awesome! We had a great time meeting everyone and got a great response to our Little Red Box game at this event. Friday May 15
What a day Friday was! On top of getting the kids ready for the day, taking Dylan to school, and cleaning my messy house...Mikey and I were swamped with business errands and preparations for Mikey's graduation party. The day flew by errand by errand and before we knew it, we were dropping off the kids and my sister's house and then speeding our way from Herriman to the University of Utah to make it in time to the 2009 MBA Graduate Party, planned by none other than Mikey! You could say we are pretty busy, I would say you are right! We had an awesome time at the party...it was a chance for Mikey to hang with all of his school friends for the last time and we all got to enjoy good food, a video game competition and Karoke with a live band called "This is Your Band." They rocked! Mikey sang a few songs, none for me thanks, but I enjoyed watching everyone else make fools of themselves. It was a lot of fun and a final blast away from school. Mikey has worked so hard and we are so glad it is over. We now have more time to attend boutiques! And less time to sleep...

Saturday May 16
Saturday began and ended on the same note. Literally! Some song on the radio was playing when we first got into our car to leave on Saturday morning and the exact same song played again when we were on our way home Saturday evening. It's crazy how things always come around full circle. So the chorus of this song sang something about "sunrise" and it was funny at the time because we were in our car and ready to go at sunrise on Saturday morning. You know how you get really giddy when your tired, well maybe you don't, but I was really giddy and so everything was funny. Friday night, our kids slept over at my sisters, so we actually had a chance to get ready for all of the shows on Saturday. We ended up going to bed at 1:30 knowing that we would be getting up 4 hours later. We both set the alarms on our cell phones for 5am, so it was quite noisy when they both went off at the same time. The morning was beautiful...who knew that waking up so early and being so tired could make everything look so beautiful? We headed out into the lovely day with an empty back seat and a trunk full of Boutique Frenzy!

We landed at our first show for set up at 7am in Kaysville UT at the DATC Women's Expo. The air was crisp and the set up was smooth. We set up so fast that we even had time to run to Albertson's to get some Hershey kisses for the table and make a sign for The Little Red Box.

Our next stop was at Wheeler Farm for the MayDays Festival. There were over 100 vendors and fun for the entire family! Our display was pretty small compared to the others, but you know, it's what's in the heart that counts :) We put our Hershey Kisses here because we thought they would get eaten before the sun got hot....

Again we made good time and were able to make it to the Southtowne Expo center at 9:30am for the Tinkerbear Boutique with Jen Morton. Jen always has awesome vendors, giveaways and free gifts! The South Towne Expo Center in Sandy is an awesome place for a show. Our display was right out front along with Jen's awesome hats, jewelry and clothing line.

(Just a side note: we had already set up our display at the Sweet Tweets Boutique, organized by Andra Stoker, on Thursday evening). So, everything was looking great and we were very excited to start our first Little Red Box game. We would of loved to have been present at all of these shows to meet all of the vendors and general public interested in Boutique Frenzy, but ya know our Dyllie boy had a soccer game at 11:30, and we couldn't miss that! We picked up the kids from my sisters', surprised to hear that they were "really" good, and headed back towards Saratoga Springs for the big soccer game. Here is a shout out to my sister, Chelsea Bingham, we couldn't have done anything this weekend without your help! Thank you!!! Of course the kids were hungry and so were we, since we hadn't had time for breakfast this morning, so we made a quick stop at McDonalds for the kids and Betos for Mikey and I.

The day was so nice and warm, we were able to sit on the grass, eat our lunch and watch Dyllie take it to supposedly 5 year old kids that were 6 year olds at least! Unfortunetly, the Sharks (Dylan's team) didn't score a single point, but Dylan is getting better with every game and we are so proud of him!

As soon as the game was over, we packed it up quick knowing that we had to drive back up to Layton to take our display down and make it back to Wheeler Farm in time to take our display down there at 3pm. We were really starting to get tired by this point, so when we got back to the DATC to find our booth looking as good as ever, The Little Red Box entry forms gone and names on our Frenzy List, we were excited! The Women's Expo was rocking with women. There was a speaker, massages, many vendors and artisans and lots of fun going on!

The DATC, a speaker, and one among many cool handmade products by Midnight Moon Soap Shoppe (Cheryl 801-941-1868). She makes the cutest soaps! Cheyrl works with Elise Allred owner of CherCher la Paix which specializes in Calyco healing sessions, phone sessions and Primavera Oils. You can contact Elise at allred.elise5@gmail.com. Great stuff!

On the road again, we headed back to Wheeler Farm. This time our display wasn't looking so great with melted Hershey kisses all over our nice red table cloth. Oh well, not everything can go perfectly. We were able to meet another awesome vendor....

This is Agi. She was awesome! She is the owner and creator of Agi's Raw Foods located at 2255 N. University Pkwy in Provo UT. Her mission statement: To provide easy to access to nutritious natural, vegan, organic RAW and LIVING snacks, crackers, cereals, granola bars, that are free of potentially harmful preservatives, hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors, colors and sweeteners. You have to go to her store to find out more and to taste her delicious flax seed crackers! Mikey and I couldn't stop eating her samples! Totally unique, totally delicious, totally healthy! Time for a break! We hit the tail end of the festival, so just enough time for the kids to meet a storm trooper and go down the slide. The kids were mad that we only came to the last half hour of the May Days Festival, so we spent some time riding the ponies and looking at the many animals on the farm.

It was a lot of fun and the kids seemed to feel better about things, so we packed it up and headed to our final boutique, Sweet Tweets.

Fantastically, Sweet Tweets had an awesome couple of days! When we pulled up to the custom home in a Heriman neighborhood, the cul-de-sac was full of cars and people were still purchasing! Apparantly the show went so well that the police were called. I guess too many cars at one house sparked some concern by the neighbors. Everything checked out fine of course and all of the vendors and customers had a great time! Again, I wish I could of attended all of these shows. We weren't able to get any pictures of the vendors and products on the inside, but this house was in a great location for a boutique and Andra did a great job, as usual, at having the best vendors and putting up her fantastic signs to lead the way.

Wowee! What an awesome Saturday! Exhausted, we drove home again hearing the same song on the radio that had played when we had left in the early morning. By 6pm we were home and had already had a 13 hour day! We had a great time meeting new vendors, and new organizers.

Sunday May 17
After a good night sleep and a fabulous Sunday of rest...we packed up the whole family once again and headed back to the South Towne Expo center to see how the Tinkerbear Boutique had gone. Due to my stupidity we arrived late and the boutique was already over! Being the sweetheart that she is, Jen packed up our display for us. Jen told me how the last 2 days were for her and her vendors..

"The Show Must Go On:

I have got some of the best vendors out there! I had such amazing support and understanding from some of my vendors, that they feel like family to me. What a day, Saturday morning was!!! I show up to map out and mark booths, and my 3rd room is not available. There is a wall blocking the two rooms from the 3rd and inside the 3rd room, it is filled with conference chairs. Apparently, their was a mix up! Off to set up, and when the 3rd room was available, we got that ready, but by that time, our vendors were starting to arrive. At this point, my event manager pulls me aside to give me the bad news. Today, 4 shows were booked, today, only 2 shows came through. The 2 bigger shows had cancelled!!!!

I am okay with this, since I had just run an ad with Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News, in the Sunday paper, and also an ad re ran in Sl Trib again on Thursday. What can happen next?

I had some upset vendors, I should say. A few folded up and left, and then the rest, stayed and we rode out the storm. The hardest part about doing these shows is letting down your vendors, or at least feeling like you did.

We had 123 people walk through our show on Saturday. I think the economy is coming up on us faster than we realize. For the Sunday show, only 7 out of my 25 or so vendors, stuck it out with me.

We had a BLAST!!!!! We had two customers arrive around opening time. It was a sign of a better day!

The ad in the Trib had worked, although the customers were a bit disappointed finding 7 vendors instead of 25, but that didn't stop them from buying. Throughout the day, we encountered some wonderful people, shopping, visiting, and just out showing some support.

Us vendors got work done, we were able to give each other ideas, shows, and more. It was so worth it, and although, I was pretty bummed on the first day, I am so thankful that this happened. I was able to get to know my vendors more, and I have so much more respect for them.

You know, these shows are hit and miss, more miss than hit. You still see those of us, working together, whether it be cold, raining, busy or slow. We are out there to help each other, and that is TRULY what my job is about. Helping others succeed.

To sum it up: My show appeared a let down, but became a success in it's own way, thanks to my wonderful vendors!

This won't be the last of Tinker Bear Boutique and it's friends, so WATCH OUT~!"

I think we can all agree with Jen that it takes everyone-artisans, organizers, vendors, customers, friends, and family- to make a boutique a success!

Unfortunately we weren't able to attend any of these fine shows but our promotional materials were there! We will post pictures from some of these events as soon as we receive them. Mikey, my husband and owner of Boutique Frenzy graduated on Friday evening. After 2 very busy and exhausting years, Mikey received his MBA from the University of Utah. Family and I enjoyed watching him receive his diploma. After the graduation we ate dinner at Bucca Di Beppo and then had a funfilled, relaxing weekend. I had a wonderful Mother's Day, and I hope all Mothers and Grandmothers everywhere had a great one too! Isn't Motherhood sweet?

One Boutique Ends and A New One Begins!

Suzanne Preston of Purse Party held a fun boutique at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, UT over the weekend. The show was held at the same time at the Peerless Beauty show, so all of the many beauticians were able to take a break from the show and attend the boutique next door. Suzanne did a fabulous job of finding the right artisans and it was a fun simple boutique filled with great items to catch anyone's attention!
Poporee, owned by Sheree Wynn and Barbara Norseth, was there with their fashion popcorn shirts, skirts, jackets, etc. These shirts are so fun and unique! You have to try one on! You can contact Sheree and Barbara at 801-232-8564 and 801-731-2637. Check out my girlies in their cute popcorn shirts:

The Urban Trends was also there with darling and unique hair accessories. You can't just buy these anywhere! At this boutique you had access to exclusive vintage inspired jewelry and one of a kind, hand-crafted hair accessories. They do customizations as well! Great product!

Another great artisan of Utah, Candice Denti, owner of Watch Creations, was also there with her interchangeable beaded watches. I love these! She has so many different colors and styles to choose from and now gives out a punch card so that when you buy 9 watch bands, you get one free! So you can have a band to match every outfit! Perfect!

We loved talking to Jana Crump of Its The Little Things. She makes the coolest vintage hair accessories out of all kinds of materials. She has feather headbands, coctail hats, felt headbands, floppy flowers, rosette headbands and more. So awesome! Love them!

Boy oh boy! This day was filled with a little big of everything! Let me first begin by yelling out a big THANK YOU!!! to everyone one who is already a big fan of BoutiqueFrenzy.com. My family and I are having a blast meeting all of you and spotlighting your talents. Yesterday was incredible, let me tell you all about it...

My Dyllie boy is playing soccer this year, so we started our morning at his second game of the season. Of course, being that we live in Utah and all, it was raining like it seems to do every weekend! The first game of the season was cold and windy and Dylan ended up playing only the 1st half and whining the second. So, we had a big talk with him and told him if he could play the entire game without whining and make his first goal, we would let him buy a toy. I thought for sure that the rain would ruin our bribe, but to my great astonishment he played soccer! Not only did he play and not whine, he scored 2 goals! Wow! Bribing children really does work. So, I will tell you all about our stop at Toys R Us a little later...

After the game and a bite to eat, we stopped by the new Bungalow8 Day Spa-Yoga-Boutique, owned by Lauri Grimshaw-Cox and her mother Marcia. They have done a fabulous job of making this 120 year old pink bungalow the perfect day spa setting to experience bliss! Lauri was so kind to give us a tour of the bungalow. It was filled with Her incredible artwork, an aromatherm capsule, a paragon facial machine, microdermabrasion, massage room, and much more! It was so cozy and calm...the perfect getaway for a day. The Bungalow 8 Day Spa is located at 12345 South 900 East in Draper, UT. After visiting with Lauri about her awesome new endeavour, we headed south to Lehi, Utah Ivory Ridge Country Club for the Tom & Lucy's Art Shoppe.
Organized by Pamela and Marie, Tom and Lucy's Art Shoppe had some of the most unique and lovely items we've seen yet and was in a prime spot in Lehi. It was easy to find..just look for the pink and black balloons! This was their Mother's Day Boutique, so they had Mom's Night Out on Friday night with games and giveaways.

We were able to meet a couple of the artisans...

Fahrenhiti 350 was there with delicious sweet treats. We met the woman behind the sweet treats, sweet logs, sweet sauce, sweet crunch, sweet cakes, sweet bites, sweet roses, and sweet tarts. Sweet, sweet sweet!We got to sample the sweet logs and take one home for a reveiw. Here is our SWEET and simple review of the chocolate pecan roll: Wow! The best sweet logs we've ever had! We then got hooked up with some great smells for our home from Alison Bawden with Scentsy...she was very fun. If you need some new Springtime smells to to www.scentsy.com/alioop!

Type Type Type, owned by Michelle Budge was also at the shoppe with her fantastic and lovely typography and graphic design work. We had a good time visiting with Michelle and looking at her beautiful work ranging from simple and inexpensive to more complex, framed pieces of art. What a delight! By now, you can imagine that Dylan was ready to go to the toy store to pick out his new prize for being a soccer champ. Well, he was so we headed to Orem, UT to Toys R Us. All of the kids actually fell asleep on the way there, so we ended up sitting in the rainy parking lot for a half hour to let them sleep before we woke them up to go inside. To make a long visit short, Dylan and Bella both picked a Super Mario toy that both broke a half hour later. At least it kept them busy for the rest of the afternoon :)

After Toys R Us, we drove a little more South to Provo...singing, smiling, and watching movies as we go!

The Beehive Bazaar, organized by Molly Call and Noelle Olpin was where we landed next. I loved this bazaar! From the colorful stained-glass windows of the Women's center to the all exclusive handmade items for sale to the lively music and energetic organizers, this was the place to be! Of course I couldn't keep myself from buying something so I walked out of there with 2 adorable handmade flower clips for my girls and a cool t-shirt for myself that says "Buy Handmade." Good job Molly and Noelle, you put on a great show! You and your vendors are amazing!

And last, but not least, we headed even more South to Mapleton, Utah, home of the Hobblecreek Barn Boutique, organized by Ellen. This was the neatest old rustic barn. What a great place for a boutique! There was a nice park right by the barn where my kids had a great time. The sun finally made it's appearance so it was the perfect spot for our last boutique of the day. We could definitely feel the artisan pride of Mapleton and Springville as we saw all of the unique and beautiful items for sale in this historic venue.

We also met Malinda Overman of Pink Jewel(malindaoverman@gmail.com). She had some very unique and dainty meets hard core jewelry, which I loved!

Jinkys Skirts were there! Fabulous skirts which are affordable, boutique quality, modest, one-of-a-kind (no two patterns are the same), multi-wear (can be worn as a dress and top), reversible, flattering A-line design, washable 100% silk and silk blends, with an array of fun fabulous colors for everyone....chic and unique!!!

Jen Morton of Tinkerbear Boutique had her new line of men's shirts at this boutique. Jen is a huge supporter of Boutique Frenzy and we love to see her stuff wherever we go!

The Hobblecreek Barn Boutique was a lot of fun. It was full of people who came from near and far. We love seeing new and unique items and this place was full of them! Thank you Ellen for letting us be involved!

Well, that was our Saturday! It was busy, yet so much fun! We finished the day at Pier 49 Pizza in Springville where we enjoyed a yummy Alcatraz pizza and bubble gum ice cream...ahhhh childhood! I love my life!

April showers bring more than May flowers…they bring Utah’s one and only Beehive Bazaar along with its 50 ultra-fabulous artists and their to-die-for handmade goods.

Think you’ve seen it all? Not at this show, every season the Bazaar matrons scour the state for the latest-greatest, trend-setting artists to assure their patrons are provided only the freshest-gets--and this year will be no exception--more than half the vendors are Bazaar first-timers. Ooh-lah-lah!

The Bazaar is paradise for discerning fashion aficionados in search of unique jewelry, clothing, glass, vinyl, paper, photography, paintings, accessories, and home decor as well as a healthy appetite for couture treats. Ladies, you won't find this kind of loot at your local Nordstrom Rack.

A Little of This and That Boutique, organized by Elizabeth & Jennifer who are sisters and best friends! They love to stay up late after their kids have gone to bed and create!! They're father had a spinal cord injury and is now paralyzed so they try to raise funds for his medical equipment as well. Two sweethearts!

This sweet boutique happened on Saturday 4/25 at Noah's in Lindon, themed for Mother's Day. There were drawings for FREE items and check out their list of vendors!

Wow! What a great place for a boutique... Right in the heart of Pleasant Grove, UT in the rustic charming Old Recreation Center. The BattleCreek Boutique has been around for several years, but was recently purchased by Raquel Franck. Raquel has done a fantastic job of putting this event together. Thanks for letting us be a part of the BattleCreek Boutique Raquel! It was nice to work with you and get to know you and your vendors!

We spent Friday afternoon taking it all in at this quaint and fun boutique. We met some great artisans with nice and unique items for sale. Here are a few...

This is Alan's Mini Pong...the coolest toy ever! If you love ping pong, you'll love this mini version! I tried it and although I wasn't very good at it, it was a lot of fun! This fun toy would make a great gift and a great time filler when you just need something fun to do while your sitting. Marie's Catering had the cutest display...my kids loved it! They couldn't stop staring at the butler. "Is he real?" they kept asking. Marie Ford Anderson has 15 years experience as a culinary art specialist. Her stuff looked delicious.

And last, but not least, Wendy Sue's Candy, Handmade in Lindon UT, was delicious! I'm talking the best English toffee I have ever had!

We had a great time at the Battlecreek Boutique. My kids were so excited to see Wall-E there and they loved the fact that there was a playground right outside. A great spot for a boutique!

After the boutique we were hungry! So we headed to Happy Sumo for some grub.

What a great day of boutiquing! We look forward to the next Battlecreek Boutique in the Fall...hope to see you there!

Sweet Tweets Boutique, organized by Andra Stoker, had a fantastic turnout on a wonderful sunny day! The second one of the year, held on April 17th-18th in Traverse Mountain UT in beautiful Richmond American Home, was filled with great products in every room. WOW! What a Weekend!

Spring is in the air, and there were great shows everywhere!!!

Boutique Frenzy took part in the What a Woman Wants Show at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, UT on Friday and Saturday.
It was a lovely show filled with hundreds of vendors from an array of companies. Woman came from all over the valley to check out all that a woman wants! We met so many boutiquers interested in being a part of BoutiqueFrenzy.com, wanting to sign-up right away so that they could enjoy the benefits of having their business online.

The Boutique Frenzy booth was surrounded by great boutiquers selling great products!

Michelle Clark of Finders Key Purse was one of them. If any of you out there have a hard time finding your keys in your purse, like I do, this product is for you! These fun little gadgets hang over the side of your purse displaying a fashionable and fun design while keeping hold of your keys on the inside. Awesome huh! Michelle also sells Hang 'em High, which is a purse hanger that will keep your purse off of the floor! These also came in fashionable designs each in a gift box with a velvet pouch for storage. And lastly, you could find Not Just a Luggage Tag, a great embroidered cotton twill designed luggage tag that could also be paired with the Finders Key Purse to carry a hotel key card, credit card, ID or anything you want to keep handy! Jesse Mills of Lil' Diner was paired up with Michelle. The Lil' Diner is an incredible product and got a lot of attention at the show. Moms everywhere know that little ones get messy while they eat, mainly because they can pick up their plates. Jesse has come up with this great product to keep the plate locked to the table with a suction cup. Check it out!

Harry and David, Gourmet Gift Shop from Park City Utah, was the booth on the other side of us. I must say, I am now a huge fan! They gave out free samples of their chocolate truffles and licorice. It was great to see the look on peoples faces after they took a bite of the chocolate truffle...so delicious! Check Harry and David out in Park City to get your free truffle!

We met Pamela Denicke, Education Program Manager of the Single Mom Foundation. The Single Mom Foundation (SMF) is committed to improving the lives of single moms and their families by helping them develop long-term self-reliance. What a great organization! Scrapbook Dimensions, owned by Cindy Wyckoff, loved BoutiqueFrenzy and got into the Frenzy herself by helping us pass out our promotional materials at the show! Scrapbook Dimensions is a scrapbooking magazine all about traditional and digital scrapbooking! You can join Scrapbook Dimensions for digi scrapping classes at a mountain retreat owned by Gloria Kelley called Our Mountain Place on April 30-May 2. Tinkerbear Boutique, organized by Jen Morton took place at Pioneer Hall in South Jordan on Saturday as well. It was a beautiful venue for a boutique! It was so cute with the delicate, light sprinkle of Spring, contrasting the timeless solid pioneer hall structure. It added to the authenticity of the entire event. If you ever have the chance to attend a boutique here, do not miss it!

Traveling around to boutiques all day on a Saturday is hard on the kids, if you know what I mean! So, we headed to a 3D movie for a little break...

Women's Night Out, organized by Mary Banford, was a great way to finish off the day. The Mckay Event Center at the UVU campus was huge! We had a great time mingling with some great, unique and friendly artisans. Event Coordinator, Mary Banford, let us hand out our promotional materials at this awesome event filled with everything desirable to the ladies. At this event, they gave away a Cricket Machine, a YourStory machine, Gift Certificates from local vendors and a dream prom package valued at $1500!!!

A major highlight of the evening was our chance to meet Kathy Headlee, the founder of Mothers Without Bor ders. What an awesome organization for a very neat cause! Oh how we would love for BoutiqueFrenzy.com to be a part of this effort. All of the money from this event went to Mothers Without Borders. So awesome!

Our First Outing...

And so the FRENZY began! We began to make connections with local boutique and event organizers. We wanted to start an awareness campaign to get everyone excited about BoutiqueFrenzy.com so we began searching for boutiques and events on- line, and I began emailing every show I found held in March and April. We quickly received positive responses from wonderful boutique organizers, one of the first being Jen Morton who organizes the Tinkerbear Boutiques and sells trendy clothing and accessories, jewelry and more. She has been so kind and helpful from day one and we really appreciate her letting us be a part of her shows. She has been eager to help us and because of her efforts we have already had a lot of her blog traffic come our way.

Perfect Weather for a Boutique Weekend!

My Simply Chic Boutique, organized by Hydee Dastrup, was one of our first boutiques. Hydee handed out our promotional materials at her boutique on March 2oth and 201st in a beautiful new home in Riverton. When we dropped off our flyers, Hydee was very welcoming and excited to help BoutiqueFrenzy.com. We also saw a lot of excitement from the artisans and saw very nice, unique items displayed for sale. The TinkerBear Boutique, organized by Jen Morton was held in style at the South Towne Expo. What a great location and venue! This place was rockin' with people attending several shows held that same day. We really started to get in the "groove" here as we made our way around to each artisan to pass out our marketing materials and talk to each person about how BoutiqueFrenzy.com fits their individual needs as a boutiquer and crafter. Every artisan had great unique wares for sale, I personally couldn't resist to spend some money. We had a lot of fun and definitely started to feel the FRENZY! Look for us at every Tinkerbear Boutique coming soon near you!

All three of these women have made BoutiqueFrenzy.com get off to a fantastic start! Not only have they handed out our promotional materials, they have also sent a lot of traffic to our site by posting our URL on their blogs and sending out our email blast. We appreciate all of the artisans in these shows and their hard work as well, for without them, there would be nothing to talk about here!

How It All Began

BoutiqueFrenzy.com has emerged out of a home in Saratoga Springs, Utah from the minds of Mikey and myself, Melissa(Missy) Eves. It began in October 2008, when the economy began to slip, Mikey and I, like so many others, lost our jobs and times were tough. With 3 children, one with a new diagnosis of epilepsy, Mikey Eves spent countless hours looking and applying for jobs while attending school full time working on his MBA. When nothing came about, he made the decision to again concentrate on his own business. He originally started this business called The Demographic in 2004 with an interest in helping small businesses develop branding through print and web communications. He has consulted enumerable small and start-up businesses in this way over the past five years. After talking to family members, friends and neighbors, Mikey and I concluded that there was definitely a need and an interest in having an online presence for those who make and sell handicrafts and unique items. Not only did we see the need, we wanted to help the economic situation.

With no time to wait, Mikey got to work on the concept of creating a website that all boutiquers could use to have affordable web service with tools to help promote their businesses. Being that Mikey is not only a graphics artist, but a musician, sculptor, author and painter (a real renaissance man), he really understands the needs of artists who would like a way to publicize or sell their works and get recognition. Additionally, his work with small businesses has helped him to understand the needs and limitations of small businesses. Mikey has used is education greatly in the process of developing BoutiqeFrenzy.com. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Animation and will be graduating from the University of Utah with an MBA in Marketing and E-Commerce in May 2009.

Mikey was nervous about the daunting task of creating the perfect web resource for artisans, crafters and boutiquers. He knew that he would not be able to create BoutiqueFrenzy.com by himself so his beautiful wife, Missy (That's Me Yea!) stepped in to give it that "feminine touch". In addition to this, I am coordinating the public relations campaign, event planning and the business finances (I'm not so excited about the last one). Turns out my Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a business minor is actually good for something :)

We have been able to create a web-community called BoutiqueFrenzy.com that is the solution to artists and crafters who are running a small business on a tight budget and yet would like to have a significant, professional and personal web presence. Boutiquefrenzy.com is not another sales site. We don't charge commissions or listing fees. We are a new idea that is based on a flat-line, value-added offering to enhance sales for boutiquers through social networking and personal business efforts! Best of all, we offer entry level web-store service that is set-up with all sorts of tools absolutely FREE! We are scheduled to launch this coming Fall, and we are currently running an awareness campaign. We are very excited and already have tons of interest from boutiquers, artisans and crafts people anxiously anticipating the launch.

Day by day, we have seen the success of our efforts grow. We want to show you what we've seen and done, because we want you to be involved! We have a vision that all who love the arts and want to use their talent to build a business, while positively changing the world around them, will be able to accomplish just that! We see the hearts of artists and craftspeople poured into their handicrafts. Our hope is to someday soon see this same heart join together to benefit those less fortunate. We want everyone in the world to be able to use, enjoy and benefit from BoutiqueFrenzy.com!
